As the fields in Freeport are unusable due to rain, we have had to cancel Tiny Tykes for this afternoon. The session will be made up on May 27.
The Coastal Running League meet originally scheduled for May 3 in Falmouth has been postponed until May 31, due to hazardous trail conditions.
In place of the meet this week, both the Durham and Freeport teams will hold practices until 4:30 p.m.
If you are looking for this season’s meet schedule, you can find it here.
Due to expected blizzard conditions, the Mt. Abram Ski trip scheduled for February 12 has been postponed to February 26. Those that have been a part of the program and missed a prior date should be able to pick up their lift ticket (and, if applicable, rental) vouchers on Friday, February 17 for use over vacation or at any time this ski season. You will receive an e-mail when they arrive in the office.
ALL Basketball Programs for Saturday, 12/17 (Little Hoopsters, 3/4 Rec Teams, 5/6 Rec Teams, and all Travel teams) have been canceled as of 9 p.m., Friday 12/16.
You can now download or view the Youth Recreational Basketball schedules for 3rd & 4th Grade (which has been updated to include two Freeport High School Varsity Halftime Exhuibitions) and for 5th & 6th Grade. Here is the Schedule for all the basketball games in the upcoming 2016-17 travel season. Note that the grade 7 and 8 girls schedule is not yet included, but will begin in January.
Our league is hosted by Cape Elizabeth Community Services, who have provided the following driving directions to each site.
Practices are already underway and game jerseys will be delivered to coaches in advance of the first game. If you have a jersey from a previous season, please return it for use in other rec programs. We will be using new jersey designs this year.
Travel Basketball season for grades 5-8 is almost upon us!
This Wednesday, October 5 at 5:00, parents can come by the Freeport Middle School gym to learn a bit more about how the league works. We encourage you to e-mail email@example.com to ask questions in advance, so we can better prepare for our meeting.
On October 12, we would like all 5th graders and kids who did not play in the travel league last year to come out to the FMS gym for our evaluation night. Because of limits placed on us by the league, we may have to make cuts or divide teams by skill level in order to field a team. There are no cuts in our rec leagues for kids through 6th grade. 5th grade boys begin at 5; girls and older boys begin at 6.
You can register for the leagues here. You can also register for basketball programs for younger children, grades 3-6 or K-2 onSaturdays or after school.
Sign up soon, as space is limited! (Travel Basketball registration ends on October 7th.)
